Summary of the Genetic Disorder:According to Mayo Clinic, Huntington’s Disease is a brutal genetic disorder that causes a breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. (“Huntington’s Disease”) HD breaks down a person’s physical and mental health and usually impacts people ages 20-65. There are no treatments that make the disease go away forever (“What is HD”). It is a disease that is passed down to children - they have half a chance of getting it and half a chance not to get the disease (“What is HD”). Today there are about 30,000 americans that are undergoing the head symptoms (“what is HD”).
